About Johanna

Hi! My name is Johanna Baronowitz (she/her), and I am a stage manager based in NJ/NYC. Born and raised in a beach town in South Jersey, my love for theatre began in third grade with my star turn as "ensemble" in a random play that a theatre program by me was doing. I was practically the next Julie Andrews.

Fortunately for all aspiring Broadway stars, I chose to take off my character heels and pop on a headset, joining tech crew when I got to high school. I fell into my love for stage management kind of by accident. I was asked to stage manage a production of "Clue: On Stage (High School Edition)" at fifteen, and the rest was history. Thankfully, I was able to further my stage management education in college, and I received my BFA Theatre: Design, Technology, & Management from Montclair State University in May 2024.

I have always loved to build the world of a production from the ground up, so being in the rehearsal room is one of my favorite parts of stage management. I especially love working on musicals and getting to watch the story come to life through choreography and song.

When I am not in production, I can be found spending time with my favorite people, listening to 70s music, or informing my friends about whatever Harry Styles is up to.
